Clodronate Liposomes were developed by Prof.Nico van Rooijen at Vrije University in Amsterdam, Netherlands. They utilize the phagocytic mechanism of macrophages to deliver the membrane-impermeable clodronate into the cells. In the presence of macrophage lysosomal phosphatase, clodronate dissolved in the aqueous phase of liposomes is released and accumulates inside the cell. When it reaches a certain concentration it can induce macrophages to enter the apoptotic process, thus achieving the function of macrophage clearance. The product is suitable for a variety of injection methods, such as intravenous injection, intraperitoneal injection, subcutaneous injection, intranasal injection and testicular injection. The doasge is related to the body weight of the mice, the injection cycle, the injection method and the purpose of the experiment.
